  • It may be because the Bay light at the RDC you are at is old and faded; or not performing correctly; or if its during the day the sunlight might be very bright with strong reflection on the mirror; or it could be in rainy conditions, with a lot of raindrops on the truck side mirror - all of which could make it more difficult than normal for MiKro-Z to connect at this time and start its BAY WATCH sequence.

In this situation the Alert in the app will advise you to ‘Return to ON BAY. When your vehicle is Ready to Go - manually select the OFF BAY button to save your data’.

If you do get this particular Alert when you are on the first Green light, you could wait until the light goes Red and try BAY WATCH again. Then if it connects you can record your Loading / Unloading time.

It’s possible that you may get the same Alert message again when the light changes to Green once your vehicle is ready. If it does, return to ON BAY and select the OFF BAY button to save your data.

  • iPhone:

If you are using an iPhone make sure you change your Auto-Lock settings to ‘Never’, that should solve the issue.

Also, make sure you have a good battery charge in your phone, or can connect to a charger while at the RDC, most trucks allow for this. If your iPhone is put into Low Battery mode apps cannot work in the background and will automatically be put to sleep by your iPhone to extend battery life.

    Android:

Most Android phones can only stay awake for a maximum of 30 minutes if the screen is not touched. But we have enabled MiKro-Z so that most Android phones can work in the background while it is being used but some may still have difficulties.

One work around we have found is to open up a video platform like Netflix or Youtube and watch a movie using the picture-in-picture mode. This will prevent some phones from sleeping while you are watching/or just running the movie in the background, and you will be able to use MiKro-Z.

If after trying the solutions here you still experience difficulty with your phone going to sleep, send us a note to let us know which model phone you have, including as much information as possible and we will do our best to help you.

  • MiKro-Z takes advantage of the camera functionality of your phone when you use it in BAY WATCH mode and although we have successfully made video calls on several phone platforms, it is possible some users may experience technical issues.

If this happens to you, please send us a note with us much information as possible about your phone, platform and operating system and details of your MiKro-Z session and we will do our best to help you.
